    March 2018.- The Dominican Association of Health Tourism and AF Comunicación Estratégica presented the agenda of the fourth International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism, which will be held from September 5 to 7 at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo.

    Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, president of the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS), announced that more than 40 expert speakers would participate in this edition, who will analyze the Global Perspective on Health and Wellness Tourism, Challenges and Opportunities of its Human Resources, the Dominican Offer of health services, as well as Innovations in the insurance, financial and tourism sectors, management of the reputation of the destination, Importance of well-being in the Hotel Industry, among other topics that seek to diversify the tourism offer, alienated with the presidential goal of attracting 10 million tourists by 2022.

    “The congress will be the scenario in which the Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Margarita Cedeño will share about the Importance of public-private partnerships in health tourism, and where the executive director of the National Competitiveness Council, Rafael Paz, will present the results of the First Competitiveness Study of the Dominican Republic in the field of Health Tourism, ”said Dr. Cambiaso.

    Similarly, Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF Strategic Communication, said that this meeting had become a multisectoral integration platform for business development and investment opportunities, offering companies an excellent B2B scenario for networking and positioning and recognition of their brands.

    Within the framework of the event, the Dominican Health Tourism Association recognized distinguished personalities for their contributions in the sector

    In an event held at the facilities of the Anacaona Hall of the Hotel Jaragua, the inaugural cocktail of the 3rd International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism was held, a stage in which two personalities were recognized for their great contributions to the health tourism sector.

    The event formally began with the words of Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, president and founder of the Dominican Health Tourism Association, who thanked everyone present for their assistance and the sponsors and 28 speakers who made this meeting possible, while motivating the constant support of the actions carried out in favor of the sector, in order to transform the practice of Dominican medicine.

    ‘’ Health tourism is an exceptional opportunity for the development of the country’s economy, by promoting its growth, its formal employment levels, its foreign exchange earnings. We are convinced that health tourism will drive the continuous improvement of the quality of health services, aligning ourselves with the government strategy to improve the health of the Dominican population, ”said Dr. Cambiaso.

    The Dominican Republic undoubtedly presents favorable conditions to establish itself as a destination of health and well-being, which provides greater added value to the economy for very competitive costs of services compared to first world countries, the existence of health centers in international accreditation process and with international departments, the favorable climate and geographical position, as well as the great experience and success of the tourism and hotel industry, among other factors.


    During the activity, two distinguished personalities of the sector were distinguished, who received their awards from the president of AF Comunicación Estratégica and vice president of the association, Amelia Reyes Mora, who shared with all those present the merits that have earned this distinction to The doctors.

    For his initiatives in favor of positioning the country as a medical tourism destination and his contributions to the development of health tourism in the country for more than 25 years, Dr. José Natalio Redondo, president of the Rescue Group and the Association of Hotels of the Northern Region.     The representatives of the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS), Alejandro Cambiaso and Amelia Reyes Mora, President and Vice President, announced the content of the program that will be addressed during the 3rd International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism to be held in the country, from September 1 to 2 at the facilities of the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo.

    The congress will integrate the main actors of the productive chain that makes up health tourism, the most recognized hospitals in the country, world medical tourism authorities, diplomatic community, major international health buyers, executives of American and Canadian hospitals, companies in the sectors insurer, financial, tourism, transportation, free zones, education and investment.
